  • The most important thing for me is that my students have fun while learning to play the guitar. Grading is absolutely not a compulsory part of guitar education. However, if grading is something you’re interested in, I have extensive experience teaching the RSL Awards syllabus and currently maintain a 100% exam pass rate, with the majority of students achieving merits or distinctions.

  • Progress on the guitar relies on developing muscle memory, so regular practice is absolutely essential. I recommend that students aim for at least three 30-minute practice sessions each week, although the more, the better. Try not to think of practice as a chore - playing the guitar should be something you genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
