I teach lessons to students of all ages. However, I would recommend a minimum age of 7.

1-2-1 private lessons with me can currently take place at the Cameron Mills Group in the city centre of Exeter, online, or if convenient with my schedule, at the student’s home.

The most important thing for me is that my students have fun while learning to play the guitar. Grading is absolutely not a compulsory part of guitar education. However, if grading is something you’re interested in, I have extensive experience teaching the RSL Awards syllabus and currently maintain a 100% exam pass rate, with the majority of students achieving merits or distinctions.

Progress on the guitar relies on developing muscle memory, so regular practice is absolutely essential. I recommend that students aim for at least three 30-minute practice sessions each week, although the more, the better. Try not to think of practice as a chore - playing the guitar should be something you genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
